About Cornhole
Cornhole, corn toss, bean bag, bean toss, bag toss, soft horseshoes, soft washers the game has many names but the rules and regulations are pretty much the same.
Supposedly the game originated in Germany in the 14th century, and then was rediscovered in the backwoods of Kentucky over 100 years ago.
Cornhole or Bag Toss is similar to horseshoes or washers except that you use wooden cornhole platforms or boards and cloth bags filled with corn or a similar material instead of horseshoes and metal stakes. Players alternate turns tossing their corn filled bags at the cornhole board until a player reaches the score of 21 points. A cornhole bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point.
Cornhole is generally played tournament style with an individual player or team being named the champion at the end of the tournament.
Cornhole Boards and Equipment
Beach Cities Bag Toss Cornhole boards are 4 feet by 2 feet and have a 6 inch hole centered 9 inches from the top of the board and 12 inches from either side. Cornhole bags are a minimum of 6 inches square and are filled with corn feed or any other similar material, Beach Cities Bag toss cornhole bags are filled with recyclable plastic pellets. You will also need a chalk or dry erase board or pencil and paper for score keeping.
The cornhole boards are spaced 27 feet apart from the bottom of each board.
